Fairies in the Morning

Oh in the morning
The fairies rise,
Wipe the sleep
From their dreamy eyes,
Wake to face
Another day,
Filled with wonder
And come-what-may.

They yawn and stretch,
Unfurl their wings,
And rise to see
What the new day brings,
Comb the tangles
From their hair,
Then open their windows
To the morning air.

And so the fairies
Start their day.
Just the same
As us, you say?
Except for the wings,
They are, you see,
Much the same
As you and me!
