The Pondering Fairy

Alone a fairy sits
In the evening light,
Pondering the world
And the coming night.

What makes the stars,
And whence the sun;
Who invented laughter
And having fun?

Is the forest silent
When nobody's there;
Is there really a world
Where all can share?

Deep in thought
She nods her head,
Thinking it's time
To go to bed.

So off she goes
In pursuit of dreams,
Hoping for answers
Among the moonbeams.
